Nine films are up for best picture, including Martin Scorsese's "Hugo," which leads the pack with 11 nominations, "The Descendants" starring George Clooney and "The Artist," a black and white silent film.
Several of the nominees were announced on Tuesday, January 24, by Jennifer someone like you brit awards Lawrence, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the 2010 film "Winter's Bone" and who stars in the new film "The Hunger Games," and by Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (pictured above).
