Movie City News has launched their top ten of the top ten lists . If you look at the article I posted about Oscar and the “heart grammy awards live stream light” movies that get in despite their reviews, you’ll see that those same movies do not usually place very high on these lists – though I’ve yet to see one not place at all anywhere. You’ll also see that when Oscar had ten slots for Best Picture, the movies were 9 out 10 in the top ten or top fifteen of these lists. Once the Academy switched up its voting again, that kind of consensus dispersed somewhat. First, this year’s and then after, the following years.

I could cry seeing how badly The Social Network kicked The King’s Speech’s ass, and still lost to it in the last 10 feet. I wonder then if Boyhood will be the first to go on to win having finished at the top of this year’s list.

The AMPAS voters really missed out on Drive, The Master, Inside Llewyn Davis. I wonder what high-ranking movie this year will not be nominated for BP? Please, AMPAS, don’t let it be The Grand Budapest Hotel. Do the right thing.

The Brit biopics are way down the compilation. I think that, when you get this many critics ranking films the result begins to mirror the Oscar voting process. Maybe the low standing of the Brit biopics in this compilation (vs their high standing in predictions) says something about the Oscar-bloggers and their receptiveness to the studio’s Oscar-flaks.
Yeah these Top 10 lists are really paltry compared to the one Steve has posted. I’ve followed that one for years too. Interstellar has broken into the Top 20 and really only has 6 or 7 viable contenders ahead of it from the looks of it…
GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL still has a solid chance depending on final number of Best Picture nominees — if we have nine, I believe it’s safe, but I am amazed it has kept in the conversation for this long, this alone makes me happy. INHERENT VICE is a longshot for Best Picture and even that is understating it. I hope it does get some kind of love though, but where? The Screenplay? WILD seems stronger than previously thought so it probably has the advantage over a number of films, add to that “locks” THEORY OF EVERYTHING and IMITATION GAME. Will the writers really go for the screenplay of such a berated film like UNBROKEN? If they do it’s frankly because of all those names (Coens, LaGravenese, Nicholson). I believe GONE GIRL is in for screenplay and who knows how strong SNIPER will be once all of AMPAS get to see it, and they will see it. Writers have periodically come to bat for auteurs, grammy awards live stream so let’s grammy awards live stream hope they’re on that mode this year for PT Anderson.
